Manchester United were, for so long, one of the elites of English football, winning a total of 18 league titles in 20 years.

Since then, they have fallen from grace a little after the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson, their most successful manager in their history, in 2013.

A string of poor seasons followed with 3 managers giving it a shot at the Old Trafford outfit.

However, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer took over the side as interim manager and it seems as though he will be appointed as full-time manager in the summer.

But how well has he done and why has he been successful in his 4 months as interim boss?

In December 2018, Ex Manchester United player, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over as interim manager at the club following the dismissal of Jose Mourinho and results have turned around. "When Mourinho left and Ole came in there was a lot of hope because we were winning games" said Beck.

They have returned 32 points out of a possible 39 in the premier league after only losing 1 of the 13 games since.

Solksjaer also took his side to FA cup Quarter Finals, where they just fell short and impressively turned around a 2-goal deficit to take his side to Quarter Finals of the Champions League.

An impressive run but is it just down to the ‘honeymoon period’? We’ve seen it many times before, a new manager comes in and gets the wheels rolling again only for them to fall off and the car crumble to pieces shortly afterwards but with OGS things seem very different.

The style of play, which has been compared to Fergie’s united of old, has helped results swing their way.

The fast-paced attacking football the team are playing make them hard to defend against and a joy to watch.

This is something which they haven’t had for years.

OGS has been in regular contact with Sir Alex Ferguson (who managed OGS as a player) since the appointment and it is believed that this is bringing some of the magic back to the club.

It has been revealed that OGS discusses the team and tactics with SAF and it is believed that his active role in the club is benefiting the players massively.

It was clear that under previous manager, Mourinho, the players lacked motivation and confidence.

Since the arrival of OGS the players have showcased their reborn confidence and look as though the side are finally motivated.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has rejuvenated Manchester united. His style of play, man management and contact with Sir Alex Ferguson has helped his side regain the prowess they once prided themselves on.

However, it has started to fade a little.

Will the ship sink? We'll have to wait and see.
